Information We Collect

When you request a free consultation, contact Item Assist, or submit a contents pricing assignment, we may collect information such as your name, company, email address, optional phone number, request type, optional client or claim reference, assignment details, uploaded files, and notes relevant to the requested pricing research.

Consultation and Research Requests

The homepage inquiry form (“Request Research or a Free Consultation”) asks for your name, email address, request type (free consultation, research request, or exploring options), and a short description. It also accepts an optional company name, phone number, and approximate item count. It does not ask for claim numbers, files, an account, or payment, and we ask that you leave claim and policyholder details out of it. If you ask to submit research, we arrange how to send item lists or files after we follow up.

The form sends your inquiry to Item Assist as an email. It does not save the inquiry in a separate database. We use the details to respond to your inquiry and to discuss scope and pricing.

Campaign Source Tags

If you arrive from a link that carries a short campaign tag in its address (such as utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, or ref), that tag is kept in your browser for the length of your visit and is sent along with an inquiry, so we can see which link brought you to the site. We do not collect other tracking information through the inquiry form. Separately, this website uses Google Analytics, described under Website Analytics below.

Spam and Abuse Protection

Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated software. Turnstile runs in your browser and is operated by Cloudflare under its own terms and privacy policy. The inquiry form also uses your IP address to count recent requests from the same network address and limit repeated submissions, and uses a random identifier created by your browser, stored only in hashed form, so the same inquiry is not sent twice.

How We Use Information

We use submitted information to review assignment scope, communicate with adjusters or claim teams, organize item details, perform pricing research, prepare reports, and provide follow-up support related to the request.

How Submission Files Are Handled

Uploaded lists, photos, receipts, spreadsheets, and related claim materials are used only for assignment review, pricing research, documentation support, and related communication. We do not sell submission data or use claim materials for unrelated marketing purposes.

Please remove or redact information that is not required for contents research, including unnecessary personal, financial, medical, policy, or payment information.

Website Analytics

Many pages of this website use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to help us understand website traffic, how visitors interact with pages and links, and how our marketing links perform.

When Google Analytics is active, your browser sends information to Google that may include the pages you view, the links you click, when and for how long you visit, the page or link that referred you, any campaign tag in the page address, your approximate location, your device, browser, and operating system, and your IP address. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers to recognize your browser across visits.

This information is collected and processed by Google, a third party, under Google’s own terms and privacy policy, which we do not control. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy. You can limit or block cookies in your browser settings, which may affect how analytics works.

Information Sharing

Item Assist does not sell personal information. Information may be shared only as needed to operate the website, process form submissions, prevent spam and abuse, measure website traffic, or deliver requested services through trusted service providers that support hosting, email, file transfer, spam prevention, or analytics.

Data Retention

We retain submitted information only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to inquiries, complete requested work, maintain business records, or comply with legal obligations.
